Mobility and parking

During the Inauguration Weekend, the AIL Arena welcomes visitors, fans, families and curious guests for two days open to the city and the region. Access to the event is from the Via Trevano side, in the area of the Cornaredo west car park.

To facilitate arrival and manage the flow of people in the areas surrounding the stadium, several mobility solutions and dedicated parking areas are available.

This section contains the main information on public transport, connections, parking areas and access to the AIL Arena during the weekend.

To reach the AIL Arena during the Inauguration Weekend, we recommend using public transport, the easiest way to get to the event and limit traffic in the areas surrounding the stadium. With registration for the AIL Arena Self Tour, the Digital Ticket also includes the use of public transport within the Arcobaleno fare network, in the Canton of Ticino and Moesano, to reach and leave the AIL Arena during the weekend.

During the two days, TPL lines 4, 6 and 7 are reinforced with high-capacity buses. Line 4 also serves the CPT Trevano area, while lines 6 and 7 provide access to the Centro Esposizioni di Lugano area.

An additional free bus, branded AIL SA, is also available from Via Capelli, with a direct connection to the AIL Arena. The service is designed to facilitate arrival for those parking in the Centro Esposizioni di Lugano area and in the surrounding areas.

If it is not possible to use public transport, dedicated parking areas are available:

• Parcheggio Gerra, in the immediate vicinity of the AIL Arena, with access to the event via a dedicated pedestrian route towards Via Trevano;
• CPT Trevano, served by TPL line 4;
• Centro Esposizioni di Lugano, in the Via Campo Marzio area, with parking available both inside and outside Padiglione 7. From this area, a direct connection to the AIL Arena is provided by a 150-seat AIL SA electric bus, departing from the stop in Via Pietro Cappelli.

The parking areas are staffed during both days of the weekend:

• Parcheggio Gerra and CPT Trevano: from 08:00 to 20:00;
• Centro Esposizioni di Lugano: from 08:00 to 21:00.

We recommend arriving in advance, especially if you are taking part in the AIL Arena Self Tour. Participants in the tour must arrive at least 15 minutes before the slot indicated on their Digital Ticket. Any updates on special services or changes to traffic arrangements will be published on this page.
