FC Lugano Golf Trophy
The FC Lugano Golf Trophy is the charity event organized by FC Lugano and hosted by the Golf Club Lugano in Magliaso.
Each year, the initiative brings together partners, sponsors, guests and people close to the Club for a day dedicated to golf and solidarity, with a clear objective: to raise funds for social projects and local organizations.
The event also represents the final stage of the FC Lugano Golf Tour driven by Lugano Region, the circuit that brings the name of the Club and the Lugano region to German-speaking Switzerland. The best participants from the qualifying stages qualify for the Trophy, experiencing the final moment of the journey in Ticino.
A TOURNAMENT WITH A CHARITABLE PURPOSE
Since its first edition, the FC Lugano Golf Trophy has combined its sporting dimension with a concrete commitment to the community. The proceeds from the event are donated to projects capable of generating a real impact on the territory, with particular attention to sport, inclusion and young people.
In 2024, on the occasion of the first edition, the funds raised were donated to FC Riviera, a regional football club that presented a project to renovate the changing rooms at the Cresciano pitch, used mainly by young players from the area. Thanks to the Trophy, the Club was able to support the initiative with a contribution of CHF 11,000.–.
In 2025, the second edition made it possible to donate a cheque for the same amount to Golf dei Castelli, an association based in Bellinzona that promotes inclusion through golf. The Sopraceneri organization offers people with disabilities the opportunity to practise this sport, taking part in training sessions and tournaments in a welcoming, educational and open environment.
The FC Lugano Golf Trophy is a charity event: it was created to bring people together, share a day together and raise funds for local projects. Each edition allows us to support a different organization, chosen for the value of its commitment to the community.
SPORT AT THE SERVICE OF THE TERRITORY
The FC Lugano Golf Trophy aims first and foremost to be a concrete gesture. Golf becomes the means through which the Club involves partners, sponsors and guests in an initiative capable of turning a sporting day into real support for those who work within the local community.
Edition after edition, the Trophy therefore confirms its identity: not just a golf event, but a charitable project through which FC Lugano strengthens its bond with the community and supports organizations that work every day to create opportunities, inclusion and social value.
