fc lugano golf tour
The FC Lugano Golf Tour driven by Lugano Region is a circuit of qualifying tournaments that brings the name of the Club and the region to German-speaking Switzerland.
The initiative was created through the collaboration between F.C. Lugano SA and Lugano Region, with the aim of strengthening the Club’s visibility beyond the Gotthard and promoting Lugano as a sporting, tourist and relational destination.
Through three stages organized at leading golf parks in German-speaking Switzerland, the Tour offers participants the opportunity to get closer to the Bianconeri world and discover the Lugano region, in a journey that concludes in Ticino with the final stage of the FC Lugano Golf Trophy.
LUGANO BEYOND THE GOTTHARD
Several data sources and market analyses confirm that a significant share of FC Lugano fans and supporters comes from German-speaking Switzerland. For this reason, the area beyond the Gotthard represents a strategic market for both the Club and Lugano Region.
The Golf Tour fits precisely into this direction: creating new opportunities for contact, bringing the name of Lugano into selected contexts and introducing new audiences to the region. It is a journey that also looks to the future, ahead of the opening of the new AIL Arena, which is set to become an additional attraction for the city and the entire region.
THE 2025 STAGES
THE TOUR FORMAT
The FC Lugano Golf Tour consists of three qualifying tournaments. The best participants from each stage gain access to the final tournament, held at the Golf Club Lugano in Magliaso as part of the FC Lugano Golf Trophy.
However, the journey is not limited to the sporting dimension alone. Each stage is also an opportunity to present the Club, the city and the region to an audience from outside the Canton, strengthening the bond between Lugano and an important part of the Bianconeri community in German-speaking Switzerland.
All other participants also receive gadgets and content dedicated to the region, designed to encourage a future trip to Lugano and help them discover the area more closely.
