AIL Arena
Overview
Starting from the 2026/2027 season, FC Lugano opens a new and important chapter in its history by moving into the AIL Arena, the modern sports facility located in the heart of the City of Lugano. The stadium represents a key landmark of the Sports and Events Precinct (PSE), approved by the citizens of Lugano in the referendum held on 28 November 2021. A guiding beacon supporting the Club’s identity and growth journey, following 75 years spent at Cornaredo, the historic home of the Bianconeri.
Delivered by the general contractor HRS Real Estate SA to the City of Lugano, the AIL Arena sees FC Lugano as the exclusive tenant of a state-of-the-art stadium, designed to guarantee a unique experience for fans and partners alike. With a capacity of over 8,000 seats, the venue fully meets UEFA requirements for international competitions (UEFA Category 4 certification).
Digital signage and audio quality are cutting-edge, with top-level technology made possible thanks to the generosity and financial commitment of owner Joe Mansueto. Innovative screens and LED technology provide an immersive experience unique in Switzerland, while a 360-degree sound system and dynamic lighting effects will turn every home match into an unmissable spectacle.
More than just a stadium, the AIL Arena is a point of reference for the entire community — a symbol of identity, belonging, and of FC Lugano’s deep roots within the social and cultural fabric of the Canton of Ticino.
