AIL Arena

Naming rights partner

The name “AIL Arena” is the result of a partnership built over time. After more than twenty years alongside the Bianconeri, AIL (Aziende Industriali di Lugano SA) has chosen to further strengthen its bond with FC Lugano by becoming the Naming Rights Partner of the Club’s new home.

Since 1 July 2025, AIL has given its name to the stadium through a multi-year agreement that represents the evolution of a collaboration based on trust, closeness to the local area and a shared vision.

The choice of the name AIL Arena therefore goes beyond the simple association between a brand and a sports venue: it brings together two organisations deeply rooted in Lugano and Ticino, and accompanies the creation of a place designed to become a point of reference for the Club, its fans and the entire community.

Energy with home advantage

The AIL Arena is one of the symbolic places of the new Cornaredo district. The city’s new venue represents much more than a stadium. It is a place where sport, people and emotions come together, and where two forms of energy coexist: that of FC Lugano, fuelled by the passion of its fans, and that of AIL, which supports the local area every day through its services and its commitment to a sustainable energy future.

AIL’s decision to associate its name with the Arena reflects its desire to further strengthen its bond with Lugano and the region, contributing to the development of an infrastructure that is set to become an increasingly important part of daily life in the city.

Sport, energy and sustainability

The AIL Arena is an integral part of the new Sports and Events Centre and of the wider development of the Cornaredo district, where innovative solutions dedicated to the production and efficient use of energy are being implemented.

These include the PSE thermal plant, which recovers energy from the cooling of the supercomputer at the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) to help heat and cool the district, as well as the photovoltaic system installed on the roofs of the AIL Arena and the Palaraiffeisen.

These infrastructures support the growth of the new district and give concrete form to a shared vision: creating value for the local area, on and off the pitch.
