BILANZ BUSINESS & FOOTBALL SUMMIT

Interesting insights and key facts from the worlds of business and football were brought together on a single stage at the first edition of the BILANZ Business & Football Summit presented by Lugano Region. The event featured two keynote presentations from the business sector alongside a football conversation, followed by a rich apéro. It was aimed at entrepreneurs and executives interested in connecting economic topics with specific dynamics of the football world, while also offering an ideal hospitality platform to cultivate relationships with clients, business partners and employees.

The first edition took place on Monday, 19 May 2025, and was completely sold out at the UBS Grünenhof Conference Centre in Zurich. The event featured a first-class line-up of speakers under the overarching theme of “Transformation in Business and Football.”

Dietmar Dahmen, an outstanding keynote speaker and renowned futurist, inspired the audience with an engaging talk on the impact of rapid transformation on our everyday lives, both professionally and privately.

Julius van de Laar, former campaign manager for Barack Obama in the key swing state of Ohio, explained through highly relevant examples how people are mobilised in the digital space today and what impact these developments have on companies and decision-makers.

Finally, German football legend Rudi Völler offered fascinating insights – enriched with personal anecdotes – into his work as sporting director of the DFB (German Football Association) and his role in the transformation of the German national team following the disappointing results at the 2021 European Championship and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
