On Saturday 12 September, to coincide with the Brack Super League fixture against BSC Young Boys at the AIL Arena (kick-off at 7.00 pm), the ninth edition of the Green Match will take place, the charity event that has been supporting FC Lugano’s journey alongside the Greenhope Foundation for many years.
For the first time at their new home ground, FC Lugano will take to the pitch in a special green kit, created for the occasion and dedicated to Greenhope. At the end of the match, the shirts worn by the players will be auctioned on the ricardo.ch platform, and all proceeds will be donated to the foundation to support its charitable projects.
The match against Young Boys, already eagerly anticipated as a clash between the top two teams in the league, will thus take on added significance: an evening where sport and charity will come together at the AIL Arena.
GREENHOPE: TOGETHER FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
Greenhope is a Swiss foundation that engages and raises awareness within the sporting world, with the aim of providing moments of enjoyment and peace of mind for children with cancer and their families. Through events, activities and shared experiences, the foundation uses sport as a tool to create opportunities for light-heartedness, connection and sharing during particularly difficult times.
Alongside this commitment, Greenhope also supports the development of young sporting talent, thereby shaping a mission that combines solidarity and sport and which, over the years, has involved athletes, clubs and organisations from all over Switzerland.
The partnership between FC Lugano and Greenhope has been ongoing for many years and will add a new chapter to its history this Saturday: for the first time at the AIL Arena, the bianconeri will wear the foundation’s green kit to once again support its charitable projects.
