FC Lugano is further expanding its commitment to the growth of women’s football and, from the 2026/27 season, is launching a new initiative dedicated to young girls: the FC Lugano Girls’ Football Academy.
For the first time, the Club is offering a football academy programme entirely dedicated to girls, with the aim of giving them the chance to take up football from a very young age, have fun and develop their skills within a positive, educational environment rooted in the club’s values.
The project represents a new step in the journey undertaken by FC Lugano to promote the growth and spread of women’s football in the region, creating new opportunities to play the sport and helping more and more girls discover a passion for football.
GIRLS BORN BETWEEN 2017 AND 2023
The Girls’ Football Academy is open to girls born between 2017 and 2023 and will officially kick off on Wednesday 16 September 2026. Sessions will take place every Wednesday and will follow the school calendar.
Training sessions will be held at three different venues in the area:
Al Maglio Sports Centre – CAN 1: from 1.00 pm to 2.15 pm;
Collina d’Oro Sports Centre: from 1.00 pm to 2.15 pm or from 2.15 pm to 3.30 pm;
Tesserete Sports Centre: from 1.00 pm to 2.15 pm.
The young participants will be guided through a programme tailored to their different age groups, in which play and fun will go hand in hand with the development of technical and motor skills and the sharing of values such as respect, cooperation, team spirit and fair play.
