The Brack Super League continues at a fast pace and offers FC Lugano another challenging fixture. Just four days after their away match in Winterthur, the Bianconeri return to play in front of their home crowd: on Wednesday 11 February at 8.30 p.m. in Cornaredo, Servette FC arrives for a match that promises to be intense and open to any result.
The return home comes after almost twenty days away. The last match played at Cornaredo was a 4-1 victory against Winterthur. This was followed by two consecutive draws, results that allowed Mattia Croci-Torti's team to remain unbeaten, but which at the same time slowed their progress in the table slightly. Despite this, Lugano still occupy second place.
Their opponents will be Servette, currently eighth and enjoying a season characterised by ups and downs. In their last three matches against top teams – FC St. Gallen, FC Sion and FC Thun – Jocelyn Gourvennec's side have recorded one win, one draw and one defeat, confirming their inconsistent form but also their ability to cause problems for anyone.
Even the most recent encounters have been balanced and unpredictable. On 14 December, at Cornaredo, Lugano won 4-2, while just over a month earlier, on 26 October in Geneva, Servette won 2-1. Two different games, but both characterised by great intensity and an uncertain outcome.
ABSENCES IN MIDFIELD
In terms of team selection, the Bianconeri coach will have to deal with some important absences in midfield. Anto Grgić will be suspended due to accumulated yellow cards, while Uran Bislimi and Mohamed Belhadj will have to serve their respective suspensions after being sent off in recent matches. Three absences in the same department make Wednesday's match even more delicate and full of unknowns.
In a league that continues to surprise day after day, the return to Cornaredo is therefore an important opportunity, with the Bianconeri called upon to regain momentum in front of their fans in a match that promises to be balanced and entertaining.
