The AIL Arena celebrates its first ‘sold-out’ event

November 1, 2026

FC Lugano is particularly pleased to announce that, on the occasion of the Brack Super
League match between FC Lugano and FC Basel 1893 (1 November 2026), the AIL Arena recorded its first ever ‘sold
out’ match, with 8,153 spectators (UEFA-approved capacity, all seated) and
every section of the stadium fully booked.
FC Lugano wishes to celebrate this milestone first and foremost by extending heartfelt thanks
to all the supporters who chose to attend and helped make the day
truly special.
The AIL Arena’s first ‘sold-out’ match goes far beyond the attendance figures alone: it marks
the culmination of a journey characterised by consistently high attendance and bears
witness to the commitment, enthusiasm and warmth with which supporters and fans have backed
the club since the new stadium opened. Reaching maximum
capacity takes on particular significance precisely because it comes against a backdrop of already high attendance and
participation at previous home matches. It is a tangible
sign of the bond between FC Lugano and its supporters, and of the AIL Arena’s ability to become,
match after match, a place for gathering, sharing and a sense of belonging. FC
Lugano’s new home is also, and above all, the home of its supporters.
Martin Blaser, Vice-Chairman and representative of the Board of Directors of F.C. Lugano SA: ‘The AIL Arena’s first “sold-out” match
holds a very special symbolic value and represents an
important milestone, but also an incentive to continue along this path, strengthening the
relationship between the Club, the team and our supporters. We hope that this enthusiasm will
continue to accompany us in the coming weeks, in support of our first team in the many
challenges that still lie ahead. In the meantime, however, on behalf of the club, I would like to express my deepest
gratitude to all those who have made this
first ‘sold-out’ event possible. The AIL Arena also belongs to those who fill it with passion.”
