FC LUGANO PRESENTS THE NEW TICINO PARTNERSHIP

November 20, 2025

On the morning of Thursday, 20 November, in the events hall of the LAC(Lugano Arte e Cultura), the Football Club Lugano officially presented the structure of the new Ticino Partnership, which will come into force on 1 July 2026. This is the model that, on behalf of the SFA(Swiss Football Association), will define the organisation of the canton's elite youth football in the coming years.

FC Lugano will assume responsibility for the management of elite football in Ticino, coordinating the main cantonal teams and guaranteeing a training course aligned to the required standards. The U.S. Giubiasco has been identified as partner for the Sopraceneri, which will support the project by managing the Footeco base categories and the U15 Sopraceneri.

During the presentation, FC Lugano CEO Martin Blaser reiterated the sense and direction of the new course:
"We want to build a complete course in Ticino, allowing youngsters to grow up here and families to find stability, quality and continuity. This project finally gives us the chance to develop elite football with a clear and coherent structure'.

The president of U.S. Giubiasco, Pietro Minotti, emphasised the spirit with which the Bellinzona club enters the partnership:
"For us, this is a great source of pride. Since the beginning there has been a common vision with FC Lugano: we want to contribute with seriousness, to represent our territory at its best and to become a reference point for the Sopraceneri".

With the presentation at the LAC, the new course of Ticino's youthful football starts concretely. FC Lugano now continues the coordination and planning work, in view of the official start of the new structure that will involve athletes, families, technicians and territories in a shared and future-oriented project.
