Basel's capture of the Swiss Cup will have a number of consequences regarding the European participation of the teams ranked behind the Rhinelanders in the title round that ended last week.
Lausanne, which finished fifth, enters continental tournaments and will play the second preliminary of the Conference League. As for Lugano, it will play the Europa League Q2. The first leg match is scheduled for July 24 and the return on July 31. If the Lugano team passes the round, it will return to the field on Aug. 7 and 14 for the third preliminary round.
The draw to know the Ticino's opponent in the second preliminary is set for June 18.
