LUGANO WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM DROPS A POKER AT HOME

FC Lugano Femminile doesn't stop anymore and on its third outing with Andrea Antonelli at the helm, it scores its third victory. On the occasion, falling under the blows of the HCL women was Ostermundigen, overcome with the final result of 4:1 (2:0).

In front of their own audience at Cornaredo Stadium's Field F, the two contenders offer a hard-fought challenge. Beyond the final score, the hosts show that they possess numerous ballistic virtues. In addition, there is the ability to exploit optimally a couple of restarts, building the actions with quality in the presence of an organized opponent that makes physicality one of its atouts.

The opening fraction unlocked in the final thanks to the seals of Aline Oliva and Sabina Di Muro. The first goal was registered following an interesting maneuver promoted by the Lugano women from one side of the pitch to the other. The second, however, is a quick restart. The resumption starts along the lines of the first half. The three to zero registered by Anna Crapanzano allows the locals to continue operations with more peace of mind. The management of the game finally leads to Lucrezia Sasso's poker, which is immediately followed by the Bernese flagship goal, signed by Mara Meier.

"The girls' performance was very good, especially at the mental level. In this kind of matches, against such a very organized and physical opponent, you should not make the first mistake, because then it is complicated to get "back on track." Therefore, they were really good at bringing home the success and winning the full post. Yverdon? It is one of the candidates for the top two places in the standings, and what I expect is a definitely complex match. From today we will start preparing for this match, training jointly with the U18 formation. In this way, we will start "bonding" even more thoroughly with them as well.", so coach Andrea Antonelli at the close of the home match.

Winning points number 8, 9 and 10 allows FC Lugano Femminile to move up to 7th place and overtake Oerlikon/Polizei and Étoile Carouge in one fell swoop. The next appointment for Eleonora Castellani and her teammates is set for 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Under the vaults of the Stade Municipal in Yverdon-les-Baines will take place the duel with the local Vaudois, unchallenged leaders of the category with 25 points obtained so far out of the 27 available.
