Over the weekend of 17 and 18 October, FC Lugano welcomed to the city the participants in the final of the first edition of the FC Lugano Golf Tour driven by Lugano Region, an initiative created to strengthen the bond between the Club, the local area and the public north of the Gotthard Pass.
Following the three qualifying rounds held at the Migros Golfparks in Oberkirch, Otelfingen and Holzhäusern – which attracted a total of over two hundred participants – the nine best players gathered in Lugano to enjoy an experience centred on sport and exploring the region.
During their stay, the finalists and their guests visited the AIL Arena Experience Centre on the evening of Friday 17 October, getting a first-hand preview of what will be FC Lugano’s future home.
On Saturday 18 October, in ideal weather conditions, the final of the FC Lugano Golf Tour took place in the picturesque setting of the Golf Club Lugano. The three winners will return to the city in May 2026 to take part in the FC Lugano Golf Trophy, the traditional charity tournament organised annually by the Club.
Following the aperitif and the awards ceremony at the Golf Club Lugano restaurant, all participants and their guests had the opportunity, to round off the weekend, to watch the Brack Super League match between Lugano and Zurich at the Cornaredo stadium. The match ended 1–0 in favour of Croci-Torti’s side: a perfect finale to a highly successful weekend, much appreciated by everyone present.
The Golf Tour represents an important part of the collaboration between the Club and Lugano Region, with the aim of promoting Lugano as an attractive destination through the excitement of football and the experiential value of sports tourism.
