OPENING WEEKEND: FIRST DAY ALREADY A SUCCESS

May 30, 2026

The first day of the AIL Arena’s opening weekend drew to a close with a huge turnout and extremely positive feedback from fans, local residents and onlookers, who turned out in large numbers to get a closer look at Juventus’ new home.

From the early hours of the morning, the AIL Arena area became a meeting point for different generations, united by the same curiosity and excitement. On one side were the older fans, some of whom still have vivid memories of the opening of Cornaredo in 1951; on the other, the younger ones, excited at the prospect of soon seeing their favourite team play in a welcoming, state-of-the-art stadium.

THE TOUR
The highlight of the day was the AIL Arena Self Tour, which allowed participants to experience the most iconic areas of the new stadium for the first time. Changing rooms, stands, dugouts and the pitch: every stop brought smiles, photographs and enthusiastic comments, confirming the strong bond between the bianconeri supporters and their new home.

An experience felt not merely as a tour, but as a first real encounter with a place destined to accompany the Club, the fans and the city in the years to come.

FAN VILLAGE, MUSIC AND ACTIVITIES FOR EVERYONE
Alongside the tour of the Arena, there was also a huge turnout at the Fan Village set up outside the stadium, which was brought to life with games, music, entertainment and a host of activities for families, children, fans and enthusiasts.

Among the partner activities, the public could explore areas dedicated to games, merchandise, gaming, interactive experiences and socialising. There were also food and drink stands, with attendees able to enjoy a free sandwich provided by Gabbani and a Pepsi courtesy of the partner.

INSTITUTIONS ON STAGE
Throughout the day, the Fan Village stage also hosted several official events. Among the speakers was Michele Foletti, Mayor of the City of Lugano, who expressed his pride at the completion, in just four years, of a modern, state-of-the-art sports arena, whilst emphasising the excitement of experiencing a moment the city had been waiting for for many years. Roberto Badaracco, Deputy Mayor of the City of Lugano, Angelo Bernasconi, Chairman of the AIL Board, and Martin Blaser, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of F.C. Lugano SA, echoed these sentiments, speaking to mark a historic day for the Club, for Lugano and for the entire region.

SEE YOU ON THE SECOND DAY

Following such a well-attended first day, the Opening Weekend continues on Sunday 31 May with the second and final day open to the public.

The AIL Arena is ready to welcome fans, families and local residents once again to experience the grand finale of a historic weekend together.
