On 30 and 31 May 2026, FC Lugano will celebrate the opening of the new AIL Arena with an opening weekend – two days of festivities open to everyone: the local community, fans, enthusiasts and anyone else who’s curious.
The event will first and foremost be a moment to thank the citizens who, in 2021, supported the project with their ‘yes’ vote, making possible the creation of the Sports and Events Centre (PSE) which expands and improves the city’s sporting infrastructure, of which the AIL Arena is the centrepiece.
Over the course of these two special days, the public will have the opportunity to discover the AIL Arena for the first time, a unique chance to step inside the new home of the bianconeri and experience at close quarters a venue that will shape the future of sport and entertainment in Lugano.
TOUR AND FAN VILLAGE
On Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May, a free tour will take place inside the AIL Arena, allowing visitors to explore some of the most iconic areas of the new facility, including the refreshment bar, mixed zone, press room, gym, players’ zone, changing rooms and hospitality areas.
To secure access to the tour, registration will be required, which will open in the weeks leading up to the event.
At the same time, a Fan Village will be set up along the future Via Stadio for the entire weekend, designed as a meeting and entertainment space for everyone. The Fan Village will be freely accessible and will not require any registration.
The area will host numerous activities: club promotions, with the opportunity to purchase a season ticket for the 2026/27 Brack Super League season, partner initiatives, merchandise, food and drink offerings, games, music and entertainment for all ages. A prize draw will also be organised over the two days. Up for grabs are an FC Lugano-branded Renault Clio, provided by Business Partner AUTORS SA, and two season tickets for the 2026/27 Brack Super League season.
PRESENTING PARTNER
The opening event will be presented in collaboration with the Corriere del Ticino Group, the Presenting Partner for the two-day event. The publishing group will be present in the Fan Village with a Radio 3i mobile studio and will also produce a special edition of Teleticino’s sports programme “Fuorigioco” on site, as part of the many entertainment initiatives planned for this truly special weekend.
The open-day weekend will also be preceded and accompanied by a special supplement from Corriere del Ticino, intended for all subscribers and those attending the visits on 30 and 31 May, featuring interviews and in-depth features on the Bianconeri’s new home. The partnership between the Corriere del Ticino Group and FC Lugano will also give rise to video content, shared across their respective social media channels, through which the AIL Arena will be gradually unveiled in the run-up to the event.
TRANSPORT
To facilitate attendance at the event, there will be increased public transport services, as well as dedicated shuttle buses connecting various parking areas in the city with the stadium grounds. Furthermore, for all those registered for the tour, use of public transport within the Arcobaleno fare zone will be included and free of charge.
Further information on the programme, the opening of registrations and details of the activities will be announced shortly via the Club’s official channels.
