FC Lugano is delighted to announce that, from next season, Matteo Tosetti will be joining the club as Team Manager of the men’s first team. Born in 1992, Tosetti brings with him a wealth of experience gained over more than fifteen years in Swiss professional football. Having come through the ranks at Team Ticino and subsequently played for the BSC Young Boys U21 side, he spent numerous seasons in the Super League and Challenge League, representing, among others, Thun, Sion, AC Bellinzona and Locarno – the club where he ended his playing career – before taking charge of the Bianche Casacche’s youth academy.

Throughout his career, he has distinguished himself through his professionalism, dedication, leadership and strong commitment to the values of sport – qualities which the club considers essential in his new role, working closely with the players and the first-team coaching staff. His in-depth knowledge of Swiss football and the dynamics of the dressing room is regarded by the club as an added asset that will benefit the entire bianconeri sporting department.

At the same time, the club has announced that Beatrice Girelli, who has held the role of Team Manager since October 2021, will continue her career within the club. In her new role as Travel & Women’s Soccer Manager, she will retain responsibility for organising travel and away fixtures on behalf of the club and will also take on responsibility for the club’s women’s section, for which she will be the new organisational and operational point of contact, as part of the growth and development of the bianconeri women’s football programme initiated by the club since its inception just under five years ago.
