SFL 2026/27 LICENCE: LUGANO OBTAINS LICENCE I

April 20, 2026

FC Lugano has been awarded Licence I by the Swiss Football League for the 2026/27 season. This approval allows the bianconeri to compete in the Brack Super League and, should they qualify on sporting merit, in UEFA competitions as well.

As part of the annual licensing procedure, the SFL assessed the clubs’ applications on the basis of legal, financial, infrastructural, sporting and organisational criteria. Licence I represents the highest level within the system.

In total, 21 of the 22 clubs currently members of the SFL have been granted authorisation for the coming season, whilst three Promotion League clubs meet the requirements for a potential promotion to the Challenge League.
