FC Lugano is pleased to announce the signing of Leon Rüeger, a Swiss left-back born in 2005, from FC Schaffhausen, who has signed a contract with the club running until 30 June 2027.
Born on 8 November 2005, Rüeger came through the youth ranks at the yellow-and-black club. In the summer of 2023, after impressing during pre-season, he was permanently promoted to the first team, making his Challenge League debut in August of that year against Stade Nyonnais.
A left-footed player, he can be deployed down the left flank, even in a more advanced position. Over the last few seasons, he has gained experience by alternating between the yellow-and-black Club’s first and second teams.
