The annual general meeting of FC Lugano’s Senior Members took place on Wednesday 7 October in the press room of the AIL Arena. Over 40 members attended the meeting, alongside guests Angelo Elia, Sao Formara and Ivan Degli Esposti.
The meeting, chaired by Ivo Wenger, opened with a welcome address from President Boris Angelucci, who reviewed the 2025/26 season, emphasising the values of sportsmanship, friendship and team spirit that characterise the club. Next, the coaching staff of the three senior teams reviewed their respective seasons: Andrea Lorenzi for the 30+ category, Paolo Brenna and Ivo Wenger for the 40+ category, and Renato Vosti for the 50+ category.
After reviewing the club’s impressive list of honours, the members approved the audited financial statements for the 2025/26 season and proceeded to renew the Executive Committee, which was confirmed in its current composition with the addition of a new member, Andrea Ghirlanda.
Boris Angelucci remains at the helm of the association, supported by Vice-President Maurizio Boisco, Secretary Renato Vosti and Treasurer Ivo Wenger. The Committee is completed by Maurizio Uysal, Domenico Della Valle, Paolo Brenna, Alessandro Viri, Miguel Abrantes Rodrigues, Andrea Lorenzi and the newcomer Andrea Ghirlanda.
During the evening, attention was also given to the numerous activities that bring the association’s life to life off the pitch. These include the Ciacio Poma Memorial, an event organised every August in Morcote in memory of the Seniors’ legendary coach, as well as away matches in the Swiss Cup, mountain excursions and the traditional Christmas party with families.
These initiatives demonstrate how, alongside sporting activities, the Seniors (around 80 active members) continue to foster that spirit of friendship and belonging which has always been one of the association’s cornerstones.
