After the break dedicated to the Christmas holidays, FC Lugano resumes its work and officially opens the 2026 looking forward to the second part of the season. On Friday the 2nd of January, the Bianconeri gathered at Cornaredo for the first training of the year, carried out in the morning, before leaving in the afternoon towards Benidorm, the winter retreat's seat.
The whole team left with the technical and medical staff. Goalkeeper Ahmadou Ndiaye, midfielders Ilija Maslarov and Jason Parente, and striker Niccolò Puddu, who will spend a week working and growing in contact with the first team, have also been added to the Bianconeri group.
Already today, Saturday 3 January, the Bianconeri got into the swing of things with a double training session, morning and afternoon, in the temperate climate of the Spanish coast. A routine that will accompany Mattia Croci-Torti's team for almost their entire stay on Iberian soil.
In fact, the training camp schedule includes double daily sessions, except for the days dedicated to international friendlies, useful for testing condition and game mechanisms.
The first friendly game will see FC Lugano involved on Monday the 5th of January at 3.30 pm against the 1. FC Köln, a team that plays in the German Bundesliga, while on Friday the 9th of January at 10.30 am, it will face the Viktoria Plzeň, one of the most titled teams of the Czech Republic and regular presence in the European competitions.
Both friendlies will be broadcast live on the club's official YouTube channel, allowing fans to closely follow the first tests of the new year and accompany the team as they approach the official resumption of the Brack Super League.
