After many seasons together and countless emotions shared along the way, FC Lugano and Mattia Bottani will go their separate ways at the end of the current season. It has been a long and meaningful journey, during which the contribution of the Bianconeri captain has been fundamental in the Club’s rise to the top of Swiss football.
F.C. Lugano SA will address Mattia Bottani’s situation during the press conference scheduled for Tuesday 31 March 2026 at 1:30 pm in the press room of Cornaredo Stadium. The press conference will also be streamed live on the Club’s official YouTube channel.
Martin Blaser, Vice Chairman and CEO, Sebastian Pelzer, Chief Sports Officer, Mattia Croci-Torti, Head Coach, and Mattia Bottani, captain, will take part in the press conference.
However, this is not yet the time for farewells. Mattia Bottani’s season with the Bianconeri will continue with the match against FC Thun on Saturday 4 April, followed by the away game in Zurich on Saturday 11 April, which will bring the regular season to a close, and then by the Championship Group, which will begin on Saturday 25 April at 8:30 pm away to the league leaders coached by Ticino native Mauro Lustrinelli.
