F.C. LUGANO SA AND U.S. GIUBIASCO FOR THE 'TICINO PARTNERSHIP
In compliance to the mandate given by the SFA and to the conditions contained therein, the F.C. Lugano SA is glad to communicate that it has identified in the U.S. Giubiasco the partner with all the necessary requisites for the start up of the new Partnership Ticino, of which the HCL club will assume the management starting the 1st of July 2026.
This new strategic collaboration fulfils the conditions set by the SFA concerning elite football in Ticino, aimed at guaranteeing a balanced coverage of the whole canton and at distributing responsibilities and competences between Sottoceneri and Sopraceneri.
The choice of U.S. Giubiasco came at the end of a process during which the Sopraceneri region was carefully assessed. The Bellinzona-based club was identified as the ideal partner in terms of competence, organisational solidity, territorial roots and the quality of its training programme.
The structure of the new Ticino Partnership thus combines the resources and experience of a high-level professional reality such as that of F.C. Lugano SA with the competences and organisation of U.S. Giubiasco, to the benefit of the training path of the region's most promising talents, who are offered a structure and an elite football path coordinated and aligned to the national standards and requirements of the SFA, to which the Partnerships must refer.
The new course in youth football training and development is therefore managed and co-ordinated by F.C. Lugano SA (as responsible club), under whose direction the main cantonal elite football teams, U21, U19, U17, U16 and U15 Sottoceneri, end up. US Giubiasco (label partner) is in charge of the management of the other categories, the U15 Sopraceneri and the FE-14, FE-13 and FE-12 (Footeco) formations.
F.C. Lugano SA therefore welcomes U.S. Giubiasco on board with great pleasure, convinced that this collaboration will contribute to guarantee the high level of the cantonal elite football, to which the new structure aims at giving new impulses in order to put young players and coaches in the best possible working conditions.
