For today’s opening match in the League Phase of the UEFA Conference League against FK Crvena Zvezda, around 200 Serbian supporters were present in the main stand at the Lugano Arena, sector A3. Due to the behaviour of some away supporters, FC Lugano was forced, during the match, to relocate around 50 people from the adjacent sector A2 to sectors A7 and B.
FC Lugano would like to clarify that, in accordance with UEFA regulations, the home club is required to make 50 Category 1 tickets available to the away club in the main stand, in the area between the penalty area line and the halfway line. The away club is also entitled to purchase up to 150 additional tickets. FK Crvena Zvezda made use of this option and resold the tickets to its own supporters independently. According to information provided to us by the authorities, around a hundred of these tickets belong to the ‘ultras’ faction of Serbian supporters, who have been banned by UEFA from travelling to Lugano as a result of a disciplinary measure imposed following incidents during the match against Viktoria Plzen.
FC Lugano regrets the inconvenience caused and apologises to all the supporters affected. The club thanks its supporters for their understanding.
