Set amongst the mountains of the upper Blenio Valley, in the north of the Canton of Ticino, the FC Lugano Academy’s traditional summer event took place once again this year. Campo Blenio, a village situated at an altitude of around 1,200 metres in the municipality of Blenio, hosted the various teams from the bianconeri’s youth sector in turn.
From 10 to 28 August 2026, around 200 young footballers – both boys and girls – took turns at Campo Blenio in different sessions, spending five days together with their teammates and coaching staff. This event, which takes place ahead of the start of the season, has now become a regular fixture in the Academy teams’ calendar.
The days were structured around morning and afternoon training sessions, alternating on-pitch work with time spent together during the rest of the day. Being away from home and sharing daily life together allows the boys and girls to reconnect after the summer break and, above all, to strengthen bonds within their respective teams.
Building team spirit is one of the main objectives of the camp: five days spent side by side, both on and off the pitch, to strengthen mutual understanding, collaboration and team spirit ahead of the new season.
With the conclusion of the final training session on Friday 28 August, the FC Lugano Academy teams are now preparing to kick off their season after taking part in one of the traditional events that mark the start of their activities each year.
