Just four days after their victory at the Tourbillon, FC Lugano are back in action. On Thursday 3 September at 8.30 pm, at the AIL Arena, the bianconeri host Servette FC on Matchday 6 of the Brack Super League, in a midweek fixture that kicks off a particularly busy week.
Both teams go into the match having played four league fixtures. Lugano have picked up 12 points, winning every match they have played so far, whilst Servette arrive in Ticino with four points, having recorded one win, one draw and two defeats.
FOUR OUT OF FOUR
The bianconeri’s start to the season has been flawless so far. Following a 2–1 win over Vaduz on the opening day came a 4–1 victory away at Grasshopper, a 5–0 win against FC Zürich at the AIL Arena and, last Sunday, a 2–1 win away at FC Sion. This run has taken Lugano to 12 points, with 13 goals scored and three conceded in their first four Brack Super League matches.
On Thursday, they return to the AIL Arena, where their last home league match was a convincing 5-0 win over FC Zürich on 9 August.
SERVETTE LOOKING FOR CONSISTENCY
The Geneva side’s start to the season, by contrast, has been more up and down. The team, managed by Jocelyn Gourvennec, opened the season with two narrow defeats: a 0-1 home loss to FC Basel 1893 and a 2-1 defeat at the Letzigrund against FC Zürich. Their first win therefore came on matchday three, with a 2-1 comeback victory over Grasshopper.
Following a 7–0 win away at FC Bavois in the Swiss Cup and the postponement of their away match at Thun, Servette returned to league action last Saturday with a 1–1 draw against FC Luzern at the Stade de Genève. The Geneva side thus travel to Lugano having secured four points from their first four matches.
A CLOSE
CONTEST The three matches from last season also point to a very even contest. On 26 October 2025, Servette won 2–1 in Geneva, whilst on 14 December, Lugano responded with a 4–2 victory at Cornaredo. The most recent encounter, played on 11 February 2026, again in Lugano, ended in a 1-1 draw.
One win each and a draw in the last three meetings therefore set the scene for the first Lugano v Servette fixture of the new season. Kick-off at the AIL Arena is scheduled for Thursday 3 September at 8.30 pm. For the bianconeri, this will be their second match in five days, ahead of another away fixture shortly afterwards: on Sunday 6 September at 4.30 pm, the team will face FC Basel 1893 at St. Jakob-Park.
