The time has finally come. There are just three weeks to go until the AIL Arena’s opening weekend, scheduled for Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May 2026.
FC Lugano will open the doors of its new home with two days of celebrations open to all, designed to allow the public, fans, enthusiasts and curious visitors to discover at first hand a facility set to shape the future of sport and entertainment in Lugano.
The event will first and foremost be an opportunity to thank the citizens who, in 2021, supported the project with their ‘yes’ vote, making possible the creation of the Sports and Events Centre (PSE), which expands and improves the city’s sports infrastructure and of which the AIL Arena is the flagship.
TOUR AND FAN VILLAGE
On Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May, from 9.00 am, a free tour will be offered inside the AIL Arena, allowing visitors to explore some of the most iconic spaces of the new facility, including the refreshment bar, mixed zone, press room, gym, players’ zone, changing rooms and hospitality areas.
To secure a place on the tour, you will need to register for free online via the dedicated link.
At the same time, a Fan Village will be set up outside the stadium along the future Via Stadio for the duration of the weekend, designed as a meeting and entertainment space for everyone. The Fan Village will be open to all and will not require any registration.
The area will host a range of activities: club events, partner initiatives, merchandise, food and drink, games, music and entertainment for all ages. Over the two days, it will also be possible to purchase a season ticket for the 2026/27 Brack Super League season.
A prize draw will also be organised over the weekend for participants in the AIL Arena Self Tour. Prizes on offer include, among others, an FC Lugano-branded car, the Renault Clio full hybrid E-Tech 160 Esprit Alpine - #noibianconeri, provided by Business Partner AUTORS SA, two season tickets for the 2026/27 Brack Super League season and other prestigious prizes.
PRESENTING PARTNER
The opening event will be presented in collaboration with the Corriere del Ticino Group, Presenting Partner for the two days.
The publishing group will be present in the Fan Village with a Radio 3i mobile studio and will also produce a special edition of Teleticino’s sports programme “Fuorigioco”. The episode, scheduled for Friday evening on the eve of the weekend, will build anticipation for the event and symbolically kick off the two days dedicated to the bianconeri’s new home.
The open-door weekend will also be preceded and accompanied by a special supplement from Corriere del Ticino, intended for all subscribers to the newspaper and those attending the visits on 30 and 31 May, featuring interviews and in-depth features on the AIL Arena.
TRANSPORT
To make it easier to attend the event, public transport services within the Arcobaleno fare zone will be stepped up, and will be free for all those registered for the tour.
In addition, a special shuttle service will be introduced, departing from the Palazzo dei Congressi, designed to take guests to the AIL Arena. A number of car parks will also be available in the city: Gerra car park, CPT Trevano and the Lugano Exhibition Centre.
All the latest information on the programme, registration procedures, transport and Fan Village activities is available on the dedicated page on the official website.
FC Lugano therefore invites everyone – residents, fans, supporters and curious onlookers alike – to come together and celebrate not only the opening of the new AIL Arena, but also a historic milestone for the city of Lugano and the entire canton: two days of celebration, togetherness and discovery, as we finally begin to enjoy the Bianconeri’s new home.
