11 times at Cornaredo: the final episode

October 4, 2026

Cornaredo is now a thing of the past. FC Lugano has begun a new chapter at the AIL Arena, whilst the old stadium – which was bid farewell to last May after 75 years – has been demolished. What it stood for, however, remains in the club’s history and in the hearts of generations of bianconeri supporters.

It was precisely with this aim in mind that the series ‘11 Times Cornaredo’ was created: to collect and preserve matches, faces, memories and emotions that tell the story of the role this stadium played in the history of FC Lugano. From the stands to the pitch, Cornaredo has been a part of the lives of thousands of people and spanned several generations.

The series now reaches its eleventh and final episode, recorded on 17 May 2026, to mark the last official match played at Cornaredo. The evening ended in the best possible way, with a 4–0 victory over FC Basel 1893 on the final matchday of the 2025/26 Brack Super League.

The Last Time at Cornaredo
In this episode, it is the people present at the stadium themselves who tell us what it meant to bid a final farewell to the Bianconeri’s historic home ground. The voices of the fans in the stands are interspersed with those of Michele Campana, Cao Ortelli and Mattia Croci-Torti, all of whom are linked to Cornaredo through their different stories and experiences.

For Ortelli, it all began as a child, as a ball boy, before he went on to play there and later coach there. Croci-Torti, on the other hand, recounts sitting on the stadium bench on the morning of the final match, mentally retracing everything he had experienced in what he describes as his ‘second home’.

Personal memories that intertwine with those of the Club and its supporters, amidst victories, defeats, great matches, disappointments and moments destined to remain etched in the memory.

A series that lives on
This final episode brings ‘11 Times Cornaredo’ to a close, but the story woven through its eleven episodes lives on. It is a record intended to endure over time and to allow even those who never knew that stadium to discover what Cornaredo meant to FC Lugano and its people.

For whilst Cornaredo is no more, the emotions experienced within its walls are now part of the bianconeri’s history.

The final episode of “11 volte Cornaredo” is finally online. Watch it below.
