FC Lugano is delighted to announce the signing of Dereck Alessandro Moncada Arguijo, a Honduran attacking winger born in 2007. A pacy right-back capable of creating space down the flank, he has signed a five-year contract (until 30 June 2031). He can also be deployed on the opposite flank or in a more central role in the attack.
Having come through the youth ranks at Club Deportivo Olimpia, one of Honduras’s most successful clubs, he made his professional debut on 1 February 2024, aged just 16. He has made over 40 appearances and scored 7 goals.
In January 2026, he moved to Internacional de Bogotá, a team in the Colombian top flight. In the 2026 Primera A opening tournament, he scored 5 goals and provided 2 assists, attracting the interest of several top-tier clubs.
At international level, Moncada has been part of the Honduras Under-20s squad and made his senior international debut in November 2025, in the World Cup qualifiers. He has made three appearances for his country’s senior team.
